This is Andrew

He has a rare condition called 13 chromosomes depletion and was not expected to live past six months. The camera caught him at a strange angle so I faded his shoulders into the background which made the pose seem less awkward. His mother wanted to capture the joy he feels performing in Shining Stars, hisContinue reading “This is Andrew”

The Busy Holidays

I have been drawing several hours every day to complete so many commissions in time for Christmas. I can’t complain though I truly love it, and I’ve raised $500 for Feeding America. ❤️ Here are some recent ones.

A Lot of Fun

All this fur and hair… how could I not have fun drawing this. I honestly didn’t want to stop. My favorite part? The wispy stray hairs you can barely see but lend so much to the piece’s realism. A really clear photo made this a very pleasant experience. ❤️

Contributing To Feeding America

I’ve always hated the thought of anyone, particularly children, going to bed hungry. It’s the reason I’m donating 10% of my commissions toward Feeding America til the end of this year. This is a win win for everyone.

A Different Support

I gessoed paper and tried that as a support. I like working on it a lot but I’m not sure about the results… I kind of like them, it reminds me of an oil painting. they definitely have a different look. What do you think?

Finally Tried a Sanded Paper

After so long hearing about pastelmat and how good it is, I decided to try a sanded paper for this portrait of my friends dog ❤️. I liked working on it, it is true you can build up so many more layers so I think I will be using it now and then in theContinue reading “Finally Tried a Sanded Paper”

A lovely perk

One of the most gratifying things for me is to hear how my drawings affect my clients. I am often told they are met with tears of joy. Today I received this tribute, and would like to share it with you. Morning Janet. I had to share this with you. I sent all my brothersContinue reading “A lovely perk”

Happy Valentine’s Day

The woman who commissioned this portrait as a gift for her husband, left everything up to me as far as the photo choice, the medium and the size. After noticing one heart in the shading, I couldn’t resist adding nine more for each year of their marriage. Fun, and hopelessly romantic.😍😍😍
