Since I last wrote on this blog. I’ve just been so busy. This is just to inform that I am still working and doing some great Portraits. Here’s a sample of a recent one I particularly like because of the lighting. I was given a great photo to work from.

A holiday drawing
I composed this still life with my daughter at her house. She really wanted to use the plaid tablecloth which I knew was going to be a lot of work and sure enough, it really was. In the end I loved the challenge of drawing it and how it came out.
If The Shoe Fits….
Every once in a while, I like to do a super realistic still life. It’s so much fun to observe something really close up and try to get all the detail into my drawing.
The Sweetest Photo Ever
I decided to use a smoother paper for this and do it in graphite. I think it was the right choice.…my client said she loves me 😎,
Contributing To Feeding America
I’ve always hated the thought of anyone, particularly children, going to bed hungry. It’s the reason I’m donating 10% of my commissions toward Feeding America til the end of this year. This is a win win for everyone.
A lovely perk

Strong Lighting
I loved this photo not only for its subject but for the strong sunlight caught streaming through the woods. My photo reference here was from Sasint on pixabay.
Happy Valentine’s Day
The woman who commissioned this portrait as a gift for her husband, left everything up to me as far as the photo choice, the medium and the size. After noticing one heart in the shading, I couldn’t resist adding nine more for each year of their marriage. Fun, and hopelessly romantic.😍😍😍
Sister trees
I photographed these trees in the fog and loved how ethereal they looked. I tried to capture that in a few different drawings, but not so happy with the results. The top left is the photo.
A Great Reference Photo
I loved working on Buddy, particularly his mouth. There is nothing more exciting to me than getting a really clear reference photo. And now you know what kind of life I lead. 😂 I tell clients the more detail in their photo, the better their portrait. You just can’t make stuff up.
